AY19 Presidential Greeting!

Happy end of summer and beginning of fall!

We are beginning the seasonal transition as well as completing the UWHA leadership team changeover. Serving as your AY19 President is a tremendous honor, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Your UWHA board has been working to make this academic year a success.

UWHA members are entitled to several benefits thanks to the successful bargaining of our current contract. Are you taking full advantage of the perks? This website has a wealth of helpful links and is a primary means of member communication. We are gearing up for a fruitful year, which will be highlighted by collective bargaining for our second contract!

This opportunity to further gains made with the first collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is not taken lightly. As chief advocate for medical and dental trainees, UWHA works persistently to address issues relevant to our members. The CBA is the most powerful tool at our disposal. Winning a superb contract requires significant member engagement. Please look forward to more CBA specifics in the near future.

Lastly, you, and your ability to develop professionally and personally, are UWHA’s principal priority. We believe physicians and dentists who are well cared for provide the best and most compassionate patient care. Please contact us with questions, concerns, ideas, and suggestions.

With gratitude & anticipation,

Tracy L. Burns, M.D.
